According to the Barna Group, "family" is the top priority of 45% of Americans. That's not surprising. A far more interesting finding is that, even though 90% of Americans identify with a religion, only 12% of American adults say that "faith is the highest priority" in their lives.
Here's another way to look at the Barna figures. The 12% of Americans who make religion the top priority in their lives are nearly matched by the 10% of Americans who don't identify with any religion. That's something to think about.
