Il Mio Inverno (My Winter)

Ciao! Come sta? Io sto bene. Come tu, sono stata molto impegnata quest'inverno.
Hi! How are you? I am fine. Like you, I have been very busy this winter.

Le riunioni del mio gruppo di conversazione italiano hanno continuato a solito. Ieri sera era la terza occasione che era necessario ad anullare una riunione perchè del tempo.
The meetings of my Italian conversation group have continued as usual. Last night was the third time it was necessary to cancel a meeting because of the weather. 

Ho guardato recentemente un bel film, Cinema Paradiso. Il dialogo era in italiano con sottotitili inglese (come tutti i film e TV serie io descrivo nel questo posto). Ti raccomando questa film. Sarà scalderà il tuo cuore e vi farà canticchiare la colonna sonora, di Ennio Morricone, per molti giorni successivi. Ho anche guardato Matrimonio all'italiana, con Sophia Loren, quale era anche un buon film.

I recently watched a beautiful movie, Cinema Paradiso. The dialog was in Italian with English subtitles (like all the movies and TV series I describe in this post). I recommend this movie to you. It will warm your heart and you will hum the soundtrack, by Ennio Morricone, for many days afterwards. I also watched Marriage Italian Style, with Sophia Loren, which was also a good movie.

Ho anche guardato Nardone, una serie TV. Ho comprato l'interia serie - 12 episodi - da Amazon per $10.00. La serie era basato sulla storia vera, dopo la seconda Guerra Mondiale, di un poliziotto e la sua squadra da Milano. La serie ha descritto - con abbellimenti - la caccia per un criminale molto brutto. Mi piaciuta questa serie.

I also watched Nardone, a TV series. I bought the entire series - 12 episodes  - from Amazon for $10.00. The series was based on the true story, after the Second World War, of a policeman and his squad from Milan. The series described - with embellishments - the hunt for a very nasty criminal. I liked this series.

Cuando ho finito guardare quella serie ho cominciato guardare un altra. Questa serie, La Piovra, è anche di un poliziotto ma quest'uomo lavora a Trapani, Sicilia. La sua missione è più pericolosa di questa di Nardone, perchè Commissario Cattani sta combattendo la Mafia. Questa serie è più scuro che Nardone ed è molto avvincinte. E' disponibile gratis a Youtube.

When I finished watching that series I began watching another. This series, The Octopus, is also about a policeman, but this man works in Trapani, Sicilia. His mission is more dangerous than Nardone's, because Commissario Cattani is fighting the Mafia. This series is darker than Nardone and it is very engrossing. It is available for free on Youtube.

Finalmente, ho letto due libri in italiano. Leggere in italiano non è molto facile per me. Sto imparando di farlo a poco a poco. Questi libri non sono in pericolo di diventare campioni di grande letteratura. Il primo libro, Il Codice della Fenice, era troppo come La Codice DaVinci di Dan Brown. Sono sorpreso che l'autore non è stato citato in giudizio per plagio! Il secondo libro era un "Easy Reader," Omicidio alla Moda. L'ho letto fino a fine ma non era una storia memorabile.

Finally, I read two books in Italian. Reading in Italian is not very easy for me. I am learning to do it little by little. These books are not in danger of becoming specimens of great literature.  The first book, The Code of the Phoenix, was too much like The DaVinci Code by Dan Brown. I'm surprised the author has not been sued for plagiarism! The second book was an "Easy Reader," Fashionable Murder. I read it to the end but it was not a memorable story.
